Surgery for Prominent Ears or "Otoplasty"
Large, prominent, or misshapened ears can be a major problem for children and can result in ridicule and teasing. Adults can also be plague by restricted hair styles to HIDE their protruding ears. Various procedures can be performed to reduce the size of large ears, improve their shape and/or to set them closer to the head. The results in a dramatic improved of their appearance and adds significantly to their self esteem.
Nasal Surgery – Rhinoplasty/Septoplasty
One of the most challenging surgeries that we perform as plastic surgeons, the "nose job" can produce a result that is elegant and natural without looking FIXED. Whether it is a dorsal hump or a wide and/or hanging tip, the nose may be refined and reshaped without being pinched, scooped, or turned up. If breathing problems exist, septal surgery can be performed simultaneously to correct the airway obstruction.
Sculptra™ - for facial volumizing
As we age, there is descent or "sagging" of our facial skin which results in the classic signs of aging around the cheeks, under eyes, and jaw line. However, there is also loss of facial fat which results in flattening on the cheekbones and loss of the soft curves of the youthful face.
Facelift
Facial shape is the key to facial rejuvenation. The "pulled" appearance is the first sign of a badly performed facelift. There is no excuse for this "look" in modern face-lifting. As we age, the face loses its rounded curves and becomes more rectangular. The skin sags and the fat descends. The jaw line is poorly defined and the neck loosens.
By re-elevating the facial fat and tightening the deeper facial tissues and muscles, we can re-establish the soft curves of youth, define the jaw line and tighten the neck WITHOUT looking pulled. The patient should look better, NOT different.
Forehead and Brow Surgery
An often neglected area of facial rejuvenation is the upper face or brow. With age we can see a lowering of the eyebrows with hooding of the upper eyelids. Excessive frowning can pull the medial brow down dramatically causing an angry appearance. Utililizing modern endoscopic techniques and minimal incisions, the brow can be repositioned back to its original position. The frown muscles (corrugators) are weakened or eliminated during the procedure, which is an added bonus. This may all be accomplished WITHOUT creating a surprised overdone appearance.
Lower Eyelids
A common complaint is "bags" under the eyes which can make people appear tired, even when they are well-rested. These "bags" results from weakening of the delicate tissue beneath the eyes, resulting in the bulging of fat that is normally hidden deep below. This can happen as part of the normal aging process, or this may be an inherited condition that develops at an early age. In addition, the skin beneath the eyes is extremely delicate and may develop wrinkles before other areas of the face. Lower eyelid surgery involves removing the bulging fat ("bags") and tightening the skin, resulting in a smoother under eye area without an unnatural "hollowed-out" appearance.
Upper Eyelids
The most common cosmetic problem of the upper eyelids is excess skin which may be associated with excess fat. The eyes appear smaller and for women the application of eye shadow and liner becomes more and more difficult. The eyelids may even feel "heavy" as this progresses. With removal of the excess skin and fat of the upper eyelid, a clean-appearing eyelid can be achieved. When done correctly, the eyelid should NEVER appear hollowed out.
